The Karcharṃ Kṛtam Mantra is a powerful Sanskrit mantra often chanted in Hindu rituals and ceremonies. It is commonly recited during puja (worship) or meditation. The mantra goes like this:
"कर्चरं कृतं वाक् कायजं कर्मजं वा।
श्रवणनयनजं वा मानसं वापराधं।
विहितं विहितं वा सर्व मेतत् क्षमस्व जय जय करुणाब्धे श्री महादेव शम्भो॥"
Transliteration:
"Karcharaṃ kṛtaṃ vāk kāyajaṃ karmajaṃ vā।
śravaṇanayanajaṃ vā mānasaṃ vāparādhaṃ।
vihitaṃ vihitaṃ vā sarva metat kṣamasva jaya jaya karuṇābdhe śrī mahādeva śambho॥"
Meaning:
"O Lord Shambhu (Shiva), please forgive all my mistakes, whether they are done by my actions, speech, body, mind, or due to any of my senses. Whether done knowingly or unknowingly, please forgive them all. O ocean of mercy, victory to you."
There isn't a specific individual attributed to creating this mantra. It's considered an ancient prayer to Lord Shiva, and its origin lies in the Hindu scriptures and tradition.
